My library, which has been a very special part of my life, has been growing at a level which is both unsustainable and burdensome. As part of a greater move toward more simplicity and less possessions, I am in the process of selling off many things, including books. The books currently listed for sale can be found at the Apollonius Used Bookstore, but keep checking back as the list will continue to be added to in the coming months.

Earlier I posted information about the upcoming monthly community meditation group I am putting together in Fairview (here). After receiving some feedback from several people, I have decided to expand the idea and add a second group at a different location, place, and time to better accommodate work schedules. As with the Fairview group, the Gresham group sessions are aimed at seasoned veteran meditators and those new to meditation alike. The Gresham group will be meeting on the first Tuesday of the month and will begin at 7pm, and after a short group discussion, will be followed by a 20-minute guided breathing meditation. All are welcome, and it is my hope that these monthly group sessions will help to bring a daily meditation practice that works for you into your life.

As we turn the page from 2012 to 2013, let us look back on a year dominated by an insane presidential election, apocalyptic prophecies regarding the Mayan calendar, and more mass shootings than I care to think about; let us look back and let us never make the same mistakes again. As 2012 turns to 2013, let us instead work toward creating a better world, spending more time with those we love and doing things we love; let us discover our true selves and in that our destinies.
One Year Bible: 2013
Tomorrow I will begin facilitating a one-year reading and discussion of the Bible. If you are interested in reading the most popular and influential book in the history of the world from a non-dogmatic and open approach, or if you are interested in popping in and out of the discussion over the year, please check out the One Year Bible: 2013 blog or join the Facebook group.
Tomorrow will also mark the official beginning of my preparation for Project Pilgrimage, where I will be spending all of 2013 training, preparing, and fundraising for a journey across the ancient pilgrimage route known as the Way of St. James or the Camino de Santiago, which runs from the Pyrenees in Southern France and across Northern Spain to Compostela de Santiago.
The Seeker’s Quest Project
2013 will also see the continuation of The Seeker’s Quest Project — my exploration into the great religious traditions of the world — with 2013 being dominated by immersing myself in the many streams of Christian thought.
Mystical Musings Podcast
2012 saw the rise and hiatus of Mystical Musings Podcast. January should see the return of the podcast with 2013 bringing much in the way of religion, spirituality, and mysticism. If you have any suggestions for guests and/or topics, please feel free to let me know.
I would like to wish you and your loved ones a happy and transformative New Year holiday and 2013. Please enjoy this look at the Esoteric nature of New Year’s from the late Rev. Ann Davies.
